MOVE with James Gnam

A workshop with this master (and FUN) teacher for dancers, actors, theatre makers and movement curious people.

Our time together will unfold through a series of directed improvisations that explore how we feel and how we remember. Individually, we will consider how we want to be in our bodies, how we want to reach, respond and play with gravity. With a partner, we will play with seeing and being seen and consider how this relationship shapes some of the choices we make as we build and compose embodied sequences shaped out of our desires. We will listen to music quietly. We’ll tell stories and practice listening. We’ll do absolutely nothing. We’ll play with remembering and composing with found things. At some point, we will also listen to music – very loud.

Wear clothes comfortable to move in, bring water. Some people bring notebooks. Come with curiousity and a sense of playfulness.
