Created by Alexandra “Spicey” Landé – the pioneer behind Canada’s largest street dance competition – this captivating show weaves body, sound, and culture into an unforgettable narrative. Featuring dynamic musical collaboration with producer and MC Jai Nitai Lotus, Mōnad is a masterclass in movement.

This draws from historical definitions of a “mōnad”—originally conceptualized by the Pythagoreans and popularized by philosopher Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz—as the most fundamental, indivisible, and elemental unit of reality that contains entire universes within itself.

A major figure in Quebec hip hop dance, Alexandra “Spicey” Landé seeks to embody the concept of mōnad. Inspired by this elemental substance, she explores the symbiotic relationship between her body, dance, and hip hop culture. Materials and sounds form, transform, and adapt through interactions between themselves and the artists.

Mōnad offers a vibrant perspective on the connections between interrelated universes and, through movement, questions the very notion of eternity.
