The hides require to be softened and one is prepared for each drum!
Learn how to make a drum in the style of the Coast Salish culture, along with protocol for its making and playing. Snuneymuxw member, Donna Manson, will lead the class and, along with her family, will offer teachings associated with the drum.
Donna Manson, qwii’wutha, Snaw Naw Wus has been making drums for 25 years. She has worked in school district for 20 of those years where she learned to make the drums. She has offered many workshops for various organizations over the years, for example, VIU, the Health Authority, The Discovery Program, Tillicum Haus Society, and School District 68.
Two size options are available. Please pre-registrater in order to ensure we have the size you desire.
13″ drum w/stick : $150 + $10.00 charges* = $160.00
15″ drum w/stick: $170 + $10.00 charges* = $180.00
Charges = room rental portion plus stripe registration fees (2.9% + 30¢).
Drum fees are Artist Fees and 100% go to Donna Manson.
