From 10am to 4pm, March 18 – 23, each day begins with elder teachings. Then, the gifted artist facilitators will share their skills, talents and guidance with participants in order to draw out self-expression through creativity and through performing arts. Teens and artists will develop stories into presentations during their time together. These mini stories will make one full evening to be shared with the public on March 24.
Jonathon Adams will facilitate poetry writing that will be turned into song utilizing any style of music from country to classical, spoken word to rap.
Jessica Sparvier-Wells (McMann) offers story telling through contemporary dance to all participants and cultural dance to Indigenous youth.
Amber Funk Barton brings her sassy style of movement that combines urban, hip hop and contemporary dance.
Both Jessica and Amber are skilled at creating dance from stories. The entire team is excited to spend empowering time with youth as good memories are built, friendships made and more stories arise.
